Wiring Setup for 2 Amps

System Design - Help Me Choose Equipment For My Car - DIYMA Car Audio Forum - www.diymobileaudio.com
Hi all,

Having finally sat down tonight and figured out the wiring setup, I'm wondering whether some folks here could cast their eye over it. It's all OFC fwiw.

Now I'm looking at a Zapco ST-4D to run the components. 100rms x 4 @ 4ohms, needs an external 100A fuse according to Zapco.

The sub amp I'm looking at is a ST-1350XM II, 950-1000rms @ 2ohms, fused internally at 160A.

For the wiring setup, 1/0awg coming off the battery with a 250A fuse.

That 1/0 runs into a distribution block which splits to a 8awg and 100A fuse to the ST-4D, and a 4awg run to the ST-1350.

I'll then run the same in reverse for the grounds, same awg wire back into another block and then into a 1/0 into the car body.

Should I be fusing the sub wire run as well? Or is it not as necessary with the main lead and internal fuses?

Also I'm finding so many different recommendations, some saying that 4awg should only go up to a 125A fuse, etc...needless to say I want to get this right and not risk the car potentially going up
