Tweeter coatings?

General Car Audio Discussion - DIYMA Car Audio Forum - www.diymobileaudio.com
I know that some manufacturers use treatments to protect domes from such things as UV rays and moisture, but is there some sort of standard manufacturing practice there? Or is it something more commonly found in the car market? Will the average middle of the road silk dome made for the home market suffer greatly if it's out in the Sun all day or occasionally gets hit with a few raindrops or snowflakes - any more than one made for the car? I suspect that tweeters made for the home won't fare as well in an automotive environment, but maybe I don't know much? What says the peanut gallery?

TIA!
