Mazda Connect & Apple, oil & water?
My OTM, a Mazda 6 GT, has decided that it is no longer on speaking terms with my iPhone. I can pair my phone and it will connect with the Bluetooth but after a few minutes it disconnects and starts searching for the phone. It repeats this over and over in a never ending cycle.
I tried to do a Gracenote update but the system will not accept it because there are no new updates. I called Mazda Connect customer service and after a lenghty conversation (with someone I had difficulty understanding) I was told that there are no software updates available and that I can no longer use the bluetooth with my iPhone. Today I had my car in for routine service at the dealer and asked about this issue. The service writer backed up what I was told by customer service. I was also told that Mazda is "trying" to work with Apple to obtain software updates to fix this problem. I was also told not to bother getting a new iPhone because they are not yet supported too! So for now I have had to delete the wife and my phones from the cars bluetooth and go back to an ear piece for hands free.
I don't know if it's a Mazda issue or an Apple issue but it seems to me that your in car technology should remain compatible with the biggest selling cell phone on the planet!
Yeah, I know, it's a first world problem...
