Manipulating stage width via driver placement

Technical & Advanced Car Audio Discussion - DIYMA Car Audio Forum - www.diymobileaudio.com
Would like to get some info about manipulating the width of your soundstage based on the mounting location of your drivers. In my experience, moving my midrange/tweeters from the corners of my dash to my sail panels helped immensely with staging and expanding stage width. Could this effect be pushed further by placing the midrange/tweeters almost horizontally to your ears (inside the door panel itself). This is, of course, assuming tuning with DSP (attenuating left side and TA). Would this create a semicircle-like sound stage?

Curious to get some thoughts on this. Thanks!
