Family hauler advice
With 3 kids in car seats, our 2014 Mazda 5 MT is fun to drive and great to park but tight on interior space, both lengthwise (legroom is a zero-sum game and no one seems to have enough) and cargo wise (almost zero room behind the third row).
I'm starting to research what would make sense to replace the 5. In our area, it seems like 95% of minivans are either Siennas or Odysseys.
Anyone have a vehicle in this segment and willing to share thoughts or advice? I'm not sure I should even consider anything else, but I'd love to hear of other practical choices in that price range ($20-$40k). Has the Odyssey transmission issue been resolved and are they now as reliable as you'd expect from a Honda? The family is hard/messy on cars, so I'm thinking used or CPO might be a good bet but CPO pricing seems too close to new pricing. Do they really hold their value that well?
Any options/features that you'd view as "must haves" for the family hauler we'll likely keep for 5+ years and lots of family road trips?
