Element Fire Extinguishers for PCA DE events

Racing & Drivers Education Forum - Rennlist Discussion Forums - forums.rennlist.com
It is my understanding that PCA DE events in many regions require participants to carry a fire extinguisher within easy reach of the driver. I have struggled to find the exact regulations from the PCA of what the extinguisher and mounting requirements are. I ask because recently in the North American market a totally new type of fire extinguisher has come out called Element and I want to know if it would be acceptable for PCA DE events?

For those who have never seen it before Element is pretty cool. Imagine an extinguisher that (compared to a traditional 5lb fire bottle) is:

- 80% smaller

- 1/10th the weight

- Makes no mess

- Never expires or needs servicing

- Rated for A,B,C,&K fires

- Discharges for almost 5 times longer
