Dodge to release "Abarth GTS" version of the Dart
Auburn Hills, Michigan - Chrysler announced today a new 2015 model of the Dodge Dart will be offered, the "Abarth GTS" version.
The Abarth GTS Dart will use the 2.4 liter "Tigershark" four with Fiat's patented "Multiair" system, coupled with a six speed manual transmission. Like the Fiat 500 Abarth, there are no plans to offer the Abarth GTS Dart with an automatic transmission.
Abarth GTS specific additions to the new Dart model include Abarth stripe graphics, front grill with an Abarth logo, special front splitter and rear diffuser, an Abarth GTS specific exhaust system with dual outlets, special rear spoiler and 19" wheels in metallic gunmetal with V rated Summer performance tires.
The Abarth GTS Dart will only be available in white, red, and black, and is scheduled to be released this Fall as a 2015 model, base MSRP will be $24,995.
Dodge spokesman Michael C. Hall stated "We've been seeing a lot of sales in the hot sport compact segment and wanted to offer a competitive product for our buyers by merging the unique values of our Italian/American partnership. By combining classic Dodge and Abarth performance elements and style we are confident this model will be well received in the intended market". "The Dodge Dart Abarth GTS will also provide an upgrade path to Fiat 500 Abarth customers who want to own an Abarth branded vehicle in a larger market segment"
Seems pretty cool to me....
