10w6 vs 10w3
Hello, while I have been searching and reading on this forum for many months, I have been generally quiet. I have come across a choice, however, that I have been unable to fully evaluate on my own.
I have a 2002 Jeep TJ with a Pioneer AVIC-8100 feeding an ADS PH15. This in turn drives Focal K2 KRX130 and K2 KRX165 coax speakers, and a ported JL 6w3v3 in the JL manufactured box.
Now. This is not a bad baseline system, however I am upgrading in the following ways:
The PH15 will be replaced by a PQ20.2 to drive the Focals.
I am adding a JL XD300/1v2 to drive a subwoofer in a new enclosure that's going in the rear. The XD is amazingly small, which makes it perfect for my jeep as I don't have a good place that would fit anything as big as my HD750/1 for example.
So what I am wondering is whether a W6 has superior SQ to the W3 that would be revealed by driving it with the XD300. I know that this is not the full power either driver could take, but it should be more than loud enough for my serious offroad rattle box.
