BMW - Mechatronics Repair/Replacement?

Hello All,

I posted threads in regards to some transmission issues but now have some updated details, so I am starting a new thread in regards. For a brief description of the issues I've experienced see details below. Otherwise, I have the following error codes.

1) 002AD0....no message from transmission control unit, receiver DME, transmitter EGS/SMG

2) 004E24.....EGS: Electronic pressure control valve 5

3) 0054C6.....VTG: Oil Wear

I realize the last one is in regards to the transfer case oil wear which a BMW technician recommended not replacing and ignoring the code. I wanted to present it to you though in case you have some input.

I used ISTA to run a test and it stated the "mechatronics" needs to be replaced? Does the mechatronics actually need to be replaced or can the valves/solenoids (whatever they are) be replaced? Just FYI, the BMW dealership did replace the trans pan and mechatronics sleeve in January as there was a minor leak. There were no code errors at that time though so no other work was done on the transmission.

Transmission Issues:

My transmission started slipping in January but gave no codes at that time. There was the appearance of a minor leak though so the dealership replaced the pan and mechatronics sleeve. A few months later I did briefly get a transmission issue notice on my screen. That notice went away quickly though and the slipping issue improved over time to the point I couldn't even discern it. However, recently I got another transmission error notice, "beware car can be put into gear without depressing brake...". The vehicle is stuck in park and I can only put it into drive by manually releasing a locking lever under the shifting boot. Presently, I have several transmission code errors listed in ISTA and the car is basically non drivable at this point.
