Cold Car Clunks into gear

Problems & Solutions - Club RSX Message Board - forums.clubrsx.com
Whenever the car is cold (like overnight cold, no matter the outside temp) and i shift it into reverse or drive the revs spike a bit and then it clunks into gear pretty hard. It sounds like i'm breaking something. It won't do it if it has been warming up for quite a while but I don't have over 5 minutes of idle time every time to warm it up that long.

What would be the most obvious things that I would need to look at to fix the problem? I should note that the cold idle speed seems a little high so when it shifts it has to drop a good chunk. Cold idle is about 1200 to 1500 rpm and warm idle is about 750.
