BMW - Replace or clean up fuel injectors?

1995 - 2001 (E38) - Bimmerforums - The Ultimate BMW Forum - forums.bimmerforums.com
Hi all,

I am getting ready to replace the intake and valve cover gaskets on my 99 750il with 117k miles. I am deciding whether or not to replace the injectors while I have everything apart or simply test the resistance of each one and try to clean them out using carb cleaner and a 12 volt battery. As far as I can tell....my current injectors are working well and there is no sign to indicate a faulty or leaking injector but I was able to find a low price of $53 each for a set new Siemans VDO brand part 13641435991

VDO part number A2C59514533.

I am still debating whether to simply replace the original ones with new VDO for about $640 or simply clean my old ones thoroughly.

If anyone out there has any suggestions...please let me know. Im not certain just how long an injector is expected to work properly and considering to keep this car for a very long time

Thanks to all for their time and advice
