BMW - Getting quick connect of upper radiator hose off water pump?

1995 - 2001 (E38) - Bimmerforums - The Ultimate BMW Forum - forums.bimmerforums.com
Wow; this thing don't want to budge. Anyone got any tricks? Heat gun? Gentle coaxing with pliers? Obviously don't want to do any harm to water pump - don't care much about the quick connect plastic as I have a new one...

Please advise - I'm out in the snowy driveway as we speak :-). thanks!

Nevermind. Finally "got it". Destroyed the shit out of it, but, finally got it - without marring the waterpump.

Now, as I put on the new one and go to connect to radiator, I see a rubber O-ring and a plastic ring sitting on there. Don't know if they were part of old hose or should be in there... With my luck, I'll get it wrong and blow up (blow coolant all over everywhere) on the road. Again.
