Rebuilding an NB1 1.8L?

I'm trying to get the most out of my little car as inexpensive as I can.

I have a 2000 all original LS, with 140K miles. It runs and drives good. It handles and brakes even better, since I've replaced worn out parts!

Last weekend, I did a compression test on it. The car wasn't at normal operating temp, the cam cover was barely warm. I unplugged the coils and removed the big fuse for the injectors. I removed all 4 spark plugs. I hand tightened the 14mm testing adapter into each plug thread. It never quite felt like I the o-ring was sealing against the head? I only did a "dry" test and got these readings, from #1-#4, 155, 145, 150, 155. I did notice that #1 had a little oilyness on the spark plug, when I removed it. All of the other plugs were dry though. I just replaced them maybe 500 miles ago.

TDR said that was too low of compression for a healthy NB1 engine?

I may have done it incorrectly and I'll plan on doing another one this weekend. I'll plan on another "dry" test, then a "wet" test. Will getting it to operating temperature increase, possibly get it to 185+psi?

If not, I guess I'll replace the rings (standard size), rod bearings and possibly do a valve job. I thought about shaving the head .040" and porting the heads a little too?

I thought about boring the block .020", but unsure if I want to do all that at the moment and have my car done for a while or if it's even worth new pistons, oversized rings, rods, rod/main bearings, etc, etc?

I would also like to replace my stock intake with some ITB's, Jenvey's, if I can afford them!

Any other help on this subject would be greatly appreciated!
