Drain holes behind the seats

NB (1998-2005) - MX-5 Miata Forum - forum.miata.net
While reading my Dec 1992 Miata magazine, I came across a tech tip I thought I should share here. I'm sure many of you experts already know this but it might help some of the newbies. If there is a link with photos showing how this is done, feel free to share.

I decided to check my car and both sides were blocked with mud, leaves, etc. I followed some advice I found online and here but could not get any flexible wire through the blockage so I used a thin wire hanger being careful to pass it all the way through and out the bottom. A good qty of water came out both sides and even the carpet was damp on both sides. Perhaps this was from washing the car the day before. I now have a hair dryer running to remove all humidity.

You have one bolt on each side to remove to peel back the carpet.
