NC1 Engine Removal

NC Maintenance - MX-5 Miata Forum - forum.miata.net
I am going all in and made the choice to swap out my 2.0L for a 2.5L. I am a little nervous, as I have never removed an engine before. I am doing the swap in my garage and I have an Ranger EZ lift that will lift the body to 20" or so. My questions to the forum are 1.) What way should I remove the motor (top or bottom) taking into account my limited experience, the height of my lift, a 7 day window (taking a week of vacay), and primarily working alone. 2.) Do I leave the MT in place, or remove it connected? My Mazda is a 2006. Thanks!
