Is it worth it.... New Parts vs. New Engine

B8 A4 - audizine.com
So a couple days ago my car started to studder.. Well, it turns out the timing chain blew as I pulled it up to the dealership to get it look at. So they are telling me that the head is damaged but they do not know if the motor is as well. They could not start it once I turned it off and had to push it in the bay. So they said I could pay for them to tear it down and see what all is actually damaged ($900), then that would tell them if all they need to do is replace the timing chain, tensioner, Heads, valves etc.. ($4,800) or possibly need a replacement motor. Which is way too expensive for this car.

Here's my question... It is a 2010 with 113K. Should I go ahead and have them replace the items above or pay the $900 after the full diagnosis and have it towed home to just sit and rot and sell off parts... Any advice would be much appreciated... I'm pretty broken hearted as I LOVE my car.
